Clayschool will be having a show at Clay Gulgong this year.
We strongly encourage attending students to participate and would like you consider your pieces & process seriously, as this is a rare opportunity to present your work to a national and international audience of 400–700 potters & gallerists.
In the first instance and as a priority, we’ll need confirmation of your commitment to the show (by filling out the registration) so we can begin solidifying venue details with the Gulgong conference committee.
We are seeking work that represents your clay practice and artistic journey at Clayschool, and reflects a high standard of craftsmanship. The work may be of your choosing and will be discussed and developed with Ray over the coming months. If you have any questions or concerns, please speak with Ray so they can be addressed early and supported through the development process.

KEY DATES
Registration, artist statements & entry fee:SUNDAY 15TH FEB 26
Registrations close after this date, your payment will secure your entry.
We will not accept latecomers as we need to notify Gulgong staff of names and numbers for conference organisation & venue purposes.
Make/gather 1-3 of your best pieces to exhibit: Must be fired and ready for approval by 1st April 2026
Travel your own work & plinth to exhibition. Setup exhibition: Sat 11th April 2026
Clayschool to Clay Gulgong Exhibition:11th - 18th April 2026

EVENT DETAILS
Registration & Entry Fee
To make this smooth we will run the exhibition in a similar manner to the Clayschool Show. We require a $45 entry fee to participate in the exhibition. This fee is for costs associated with venue hire, exhibition opening & packing materials. The entry fee can be paid via a shop link after you register.
Please note there may be additional costs once the venue hire is confirmed. At the moment a we don’t have many details to work with but we will need to know if you’re interested in participating.
Every participant will need to register with their 3 letter code, artist name, artist statements & entry fee payment. These are due on the 9pm, Sunday 15th Feb 2026 and will confirm your participation in the show. We will not accept latecomers.
After you have registered you will be sent to a payment page. Please make the payment straight away so we can keep a clear record of your entry.
PHOTOS
Please email us with 3 high quality photos of your work (or style of work if exhibition pieces are not completed) & also a head shot. We will need these quite soon after your confirmation of attendance. We will send these to Clay Gulgong in a media kit for advertising.
Please discuss photography with us if it is an issue, we will find a solution and if you would like your work photographed, Jen can do this for $75 per piece (or per collection) of work.
MAKE YOUR WORK
Make work for the exhibition or gather the best work you have already made from your studio. If you are making work specifically, please discuss plans with Ray. We will have meetings leading up to the exhibition to discuss what will be exhibited & Ray will have final say as to whether or not it is acceptable to show.
Work will need to be completed (including glaze fired) by 1st of April 2026.
PREPARE WORK FOR SHOW & TRAVEL
Tag your work with your code & price (on the bottom of your pots). Please specify if you are selling your work as a collection or individually. If you need to discuss pricing with Ray please do this before heading to Gulgong and when work is due for 1st April deadline.
You will need to travel your work and a suitable plinth (& potentially lighting) and wrapping for sale to Gulgong in NSW. We will discuss this more as the months go on.
ROSTER
Participate in the running of the show - sign up to man the exhibition at the conference. This is a shared file and update automatically, we will send a link once we have more details of timing and venue.

POST SHOW
There is a 10% commission which covers the organisation, admin, banking fees and post show accounting. This fee will be subtracted from your sales.
Your 'takings' (minus the commission) will be calculated and transferred to you soon after the show.
All unsold work can be collected after the event.
As this is a Clayschool show, Ray will have final say on how, where and what work will be displayed.
